I recently purchased a beautiful little Fiat 500L from Tristan for my wife's 50th - couldn't be happier with the service, Tristan has a fantastic garage and a great collection of 500's, so it was immediately obvious that he knew his business and nothing was too much bother. Swapped my restored classic car with this Tristan guy as he kept telling me what a great motor it was with just a few “quirks”. I fell for his schmoozing. He told me my car was only worth about 2k. I was getting a good deal he said. Despite following my heart I instantly regretted it on the drive home, the car didn’t drive well and was illegally loud. Despite getting in touch with him later that day he refused flat out to swap back. He said he needed my old car to get him to work. I took the car he gave me to a local classic car mechanic who said it wasn’t safe to drive. I in effect swapped a fully restored classic for a heap of junk. Just about a month later I saw the car I swapped up for sale again. I contacted him and he offered it back to me at a third more of the value of the car he swapped with me. After agreeing to buy it back despite needing to foot a 3.5k bill he messages to say he sold it to someone else for the full asking price. I managed to sell his car as a project but was about£1500 out of pocket at this point. Never again will I make this mistake again. It’s a shame because he seemed nice but after this experience he turned out to be unfriendly and dishonest. Beware - make sure you are confident with what you are getting before committing to swap / buy and don’t listen to the valuations he will give you.

Having had a few issues with my ‘new’ 1963 Fiat 600D Multipla I had a quick search for a Vintage Fiat specialist (not holding out much hope) and discovered The Tiny Car Company just outside Chelmsford Essex (and just down the road). Tristan and his team of classic Fiat specialists sorted out our starting and running issues! Highly recommended for classic 500, 600 repairs, maintenance and resto work!

He wasn’t pushy in any way, but was clearly very enthusiastic about the types of cars he sells and was able to tell us the history of our car and lots of tips we needed to know about owning this little piece of history!
